Questions

Everything you need to decide.

Do I need to book online, or can I walk in?

Either works. Booking online requires payment and guarantees your bike, which we recommend for weekends and the April–September stretch. Walk-in is welcome at both shops too, subject to availability, and you pay at the desk.

Do I have to pay when I book online?

Yes. Online bookings are paid in advance to secure your bike. Prefer to pay on arrival? Just walk in at either shop.

What do I need to bring?

Just a deposit per bike: €20 by card, or €75 in cash. No ID, no paperwork.

What if it rains?

Amsterdam locals cycle in the rain. It's kind of part of the experience. We have rain ponchos at the shop for €3 if you'd rather stay dry.

Can I return the bike to a different location?

Yes, both shops accept returns from each other for a €1,95 fee per bike. Just let us know at pickup so we can confirm closing times (De Kolk closes at 17:30; Station closes at 20:00).
